Q&A: Precontest and supplementation

Question: When do you personally stop consuming whey protein/preworkouts/etc. when getting ready for a show?

Answer: I usually stop all powder supplementation 2 weeks out from a contest. At that point, I stick only to my nutritional vitamin supplements only, along with whole foods for my daily calorie intake. I find that removal of whey protein, preworkouts, carb powders, etc help bring into the show harder/dryer. Many supplements contain so many added fillers, additives, ingredients, that it is hard to manage what the body is really working good with, and what it isn’t. So to take away any possible errors that might occur, I just stick to whole foods about 2 weeks out since they will keep me satisfied longer then a powdered source would.
