Does going into the Sauna actually benefit your conditioning?

Q&A Time…..

Q: Does going into the Sauna actually benefit your conditioning?

A: No. It’s a complete waste of time. You’ll consume those fluids you lost back in within no time anyways…and actually it may hinder your conditioning/progress. Extreme heat increases your cortisol levels (hence your bodies stress rises), which then can have your body retain water, instead of flushing it out. The body will start to think it’s in survival mode, and try to hold onto every bit of water it takes in. And, think about it…..why do you want to start pushing water OUT OF YOUR MUSCLES when they are made up of 70% water??? Do you want to lose your muscle mass that bad? Do you hate achieving those awesome pumps in the gym? If so, keep doing it, if not, stop wasting your time in the sauna.

If you want to tighten your skin some, get your tail into a tanning bed once or twice a week during the last 6 weeks before a show.
