My Thoughts of the 2014 Mr. Olympia.

Coming into this one I had an open mind, even though I did have my favorites, but I still give credit when credit is due. So that being said, if competitors came in full, hard, dry and peaked, they would get my vote. I’m just going to keep this to the top 7 competitors.

#7 Mamdouh Elssbiay. Big Ramy came in better and more confident this year. His physique still needs more muscle maturity, but overall he came in better. I honestly had him no higher then 5th place.

#6 Branch Warren. Condition was spot on, and better then last year. Do I find his physique worthy of 6th? No. It’s just starting to look sloppy everywhere, and disproportionate, especially in the back shots where it looks like is just flabby loose skin. I call it the “blob” syndrome. I had him 7th or 8th.

#5 Dexter. Same physique as always, but definitely not as conditioned, and his quads are starting to go backwards (being 44 can do that). I had him 6th place. He brought nothing special to the stage this year.

#4 Wolf. Biggest robbed competitor at the O. He brought the conditioning, size, symmetry, etc. His legs were crazy (front and back), and he MAY have been a little flat in his chest, but he was the only one in the top 4 that had his midsection dialed and chizzled. Robbed completely.

#3 Shawn Rhoden. Love his physique, but he was 4th to me. Overall mass on the upper body was evident. Wolf dwarfed him in every way, and it should have been the same outcome between the two guys as it was during the 2014 Arnold Classic.

#2 Kai Greene. Ill keep this simple. Should be the 2014 Mr.Olympia champion. Why? width, size, conditioning, posing, etc. I do think he needs to stop during the “crab” most muscular next to Phil though, since that shot doesn’t work well next to Phil.

#1 Phil Heath. He brought his worst look to the Olympia stage (see attached picture). In 2011 he NAILED IT PERFECTLY!, in 2012 he was given a gift, in 2013 he improved, but this year he looked by far his worst. His GUT was distended, film over his midsection in MANY poses, he had issues with posing in general during prejudging and finals (cramping or what not), so he was slow to nail his shots. He didn’t bring it like usual, and it was visually evident.
