Coach’s Progress: August 2015 (Prior to Dual Distal Bicep Tendon Rupture Injury & Surgeries)

I am currently in my 11th (left) and 4th (right) week of post-op recovery for my dual distal bicep tendon rupture injuries (left and right arms), but I didnt get a chance to post the LAST set of progress pics of the progress I made before the injuries, which was Mid-August. I was making great progress, and I was sitting around 235lbs. Currently I am less than 220lbs, and look flat/deflated and completely soft. My legs have kept up however, and have made good process during this injury recovery process. I didnt skip training legs 2-3x a week.

Ok, even I need to keep myself accountable just as my clients and athletes do, and see if progress is going in the right direction for myself personally. Still working on growing; far from my goal. I know I’m not “PRO-level” (never will be, or want to be), but I do love bodybuilding. Calories have increased 25-30%, but to keep my bad-weight-gain under control, I’ve been hitting some cardio 3x a week for roughly 30 minutes each session. No point in gaining size if most of it is shit. When cardio comes into my personal program, so does more calories. I see my weak areas (arms, rear delts, lats) and my strong points (legs, calves, delts, chest is ok, my back thickness is improving some). Conditioning could be better, but with the amount of food I eat per day I’m just stoked I’m not a fatass haha but that’s how growing works. If you’re too lean, you don’t grow, and don’t believe what any idiot tells you otherwise. I was beat to shit here from training back and some shoulders, so I was exhausted to just do these progress pics. Do I plan to ever compete again, no. Not in the cards for me, don’t need it, don’t want it. Happy to do this as a hobby because I love it. Don’t need to prove anything to a panel of judges. I feel great, no serious injuries other then some bumps and aches from hard training, and life is great with my awesome wife, kids and family. ‪#‎fitness‬ ‪#‎fitfam‬ ‪#‎powerlifting‬ ‪#‎bodybuilding‬ ‪#‎driven‬ ‪#‎nonstopoffseason‬ ‪#‎230lbs‬ ‪#‎255goal‬ ‪#‎growing‬ ‪#‎progression‬ ‪#‎workstillneedstogetdone‬ ‪#‎onedayatatime‬ ‪#‎teammvpathletics‬ ‪#‎ilovethisshit‬ ‪#‎lovetheprocess‬ ‪#‎bethebestforyounotothers‬ ‪#‎accountable‬
