Pre/Post Nutrition & Natural HGH Production

Lately I’ve been experiment with what George Farah (pro bodybuilder/prep coach to Kai Greene, Branch Warren, etc) mentioned at a recent seminar with Kai Greene. He said that post-workout is when the bodies natural HGH (human growth hormone) levels are at their highest, so consuming carbs right away will HALT all HGH production, and it is best to wait 20-30min post-workout to consume any carbs. He also mentioned that that the only protein to consume right after your workout is Hydrolyzed Whey Protein, as it is supposed to enter the bloodstream almost immediately; it takes whey Isolate 20-25min to enter. He also stated that if you can’t take Hydrolyzed Whey Protein, taking branch chain amino acids post-workout is the best choice.
Well, since Hydrolyzed Whey Protein is a bit out of the price range, taking BCAA’s was the best option, as he stated. Another observation I may add was, my coach was having me do this post-workout during prep as well (didn’t really understand why to be honest when I was doing it.) So lately I have opted back into what I was doing during my pre-contest prep, and been noticing some positives coming from it.
Here is what I’ve been doing:
1hr preworkout:
• 1 ALLMAX Aminocore (bcaa’s) scoop serving
• 5g ALLMAX Creatine
• 5g ALLMAX Glutamine
• 5g ALLMAX Arginine
• 3g ALLMAX Taurine
• 1 ALLMAX Razor8 or MusclePrime scoop serving
• 1 ALLMAX Rapidcuts tab (more caffeine)
Right after the workout:
• 1 ALLMAX Aminocore (bcaa’s) scoop serving
• 5g ALLMAX Creatine
• 5g ALLMAX Glutamine
• 5g ALLMAX Arginine
• 3g ALLMAX Taurine
20-30min after BCAA’s:
• 2.5 ALLMAX IsoFlex Whey Protein scoops
• 1 Cup oatmeal with 1 banana or 2 Pop-Tarts
